Summarize Prior Payroll is used to reduce the size of a client file to help speed up processing. Checks may be summarized by quarter or by month. Quarterly payroll tax returns and W-2s may still be reprinted for prior years. Month—The program will summarize all payroll checks and create one payroll check per employee per month. The checks will be dated on the last day of each month. Note: 941 Daily Liability and State Daily Liability detail will be lost. Click Yes on the dialog box shown in the screenshot above to continue. Note: The dialog box shown in the following screenshot will open. DO NOT end the task or shut off your computer during this summary. Interrupting this process could corrupt the database.
