Use the 1099 Vendor Maintenance utility to create 1099 account settings for multiple vendors. The only contacts that appear in the 1099 Vendor Maintenance window are contacts where the Vendor box has been checked on their Setup>Contacts>Company Contacts record.
Select all vendors in the upper left grid for which 1099 account settings will be created. Right-click and Select All, or select and deselect vendors individually with the mouse or spacebar when the cursor is in the Chk column. Use the up and down arrow keys to advance through the list of vendors.
Enter all Accounts and corresponding 1099 Types in the grid on the right. List as many Account or Type settings as necessary, or use wildcard characters to include a range of accounts on a single line where:
An asterisk (*) before an account code (*xxx) includes all accounts that end with xxx, including those that are just xxx.
An asterisk (*) at the end of an account code (xxx*) includes all accounts that begin with xxx, including those that are just xxx.
An asterisk (*) before and at the end of an account code (*xxx*) includes all accounts that have the string xxx in the middle of the account code, including account codes that are just xxx or start with or end with xxx.
A question mark (?) in an account code (x?xx) includes all accounts where the characters in the x positions match the value assigned and where any character is accepted in the question mark position. Use multiple question marks as desired.
Use combinations of * and ? as desired.
Select Update to replace the 1099 Type with the Type recorded above when an Account setting already exists for a selected vendor. Select None to leave the 1099 Type as is when Account settings already exist for a selected vendor.
Click OK to create records. When wildcards have been recorded to include multiple accounts, each selected vendor will have a separate 1099 Setting created on the Setup>Contacts>Company Contacts Vendor tab for each matching Account.
Use the lower left grid to view the 1099 Settings for a vendor by placing the cursor on the vendor row in the upper left grid.
Click Cancel when you are finished to close the 1099 Vendor Maintenance window.
