The Chart of Accounts can be Imported from ACS or CSA
To import from Accounting CS (ACS), open ACS.
Select Reports.
Select Chart of Accounts - Detailed from the Report list.
Verify that all options are checked as shown below.
Click Print Selected.
Uncheck Output to printer.
Check Output to file.
Select Text File (*.txt)
Click OK.
To import from Creative Solutions Accounting (CSA), Open CSA.
Select Utilities>Exports.
In the Export dialog box, select the following:
For the Report Layout, select Chart of Accounts in the drop-down list.
For the Format, select ASCII.
Put a checkmark in the Include column headings box.
Under File, change the Location of file to be exported by clicking on the Change Location box.
Change the name of the file to be created to be the company name and then add COA.ASC so that other files are not overwritten.
Click Export.
To import the .csv or .txt File
Open FCA™ or PBM™.
Select File>Imports>Creative Solutions>ACS or CSA GL Accounts.
Browse to the directory containing the .csv file that was created in CSA or .txt file that was created in ACS.
Select the desired file and click Open.
FCA will list all the Accounts and Descriptions from Creative Solutions with the account Name and Description being the same. It will guess the Class and Type. Review each account if necessary and change the Class and Type by clicking in the box. This will bring up the drop-down arrow. (See the Help topic under Set up>Accounts for information on Name and Description.)
Click Print to print a plain text report of the mapping.
Click OK to import the Chart of Accounts.
Note: A "Not Responding" message in the Windows Task Manager does not mean that the program is not working. A dialog box will appear when the process is complete. DO NOT end the task or interrupt the import.
If another client with a similar Chart of Accounts has been imported into FCA, use the following steps to import the mapping from that client.
Select a client with a similar chart of accounts that has already been mapped and imported.
Click Load from Client.
Review and edit mapping as necessary.
Click OK to import the Chart of Accounts.
