Statistic type items are used to track any amount without affecting wages or earnings. Some examples include sales for tipped employees, weeks worked, and effective hourly tip rate. 

Lookup—Enter a brief identifier for the payroll item. It can be any desired alphanumeric combination. Each Lookup must be unique. It should not be more than seven characters.

Description—Enter a meaningful description in this field. 

Account—Select the appropriate general ledger account that should be credited for the item. Only statistic classification accounts may be selected for this item type.

Tracking—Make the desired selection from the drop-down list.

• Effective Hourly Tip Rate—Amounts posted to an item with this tracking will be printed on the check stub as required for tipped employees by the state of Maryland.
• Weeks—Amounts posted to an item with this tracking will be reported as 'Credit Weeks' or 'Weeks Worked' on state unemployment returns as required.
