The Federal Government is mandating that all firms related to Tax and Accounting implement an added layer of security, which means Two-Factor Authentication.
Activation of Two-Factor Authentication
The Owners can activate 2FA under the Owner Settings of the Office Profile. This pertains to the Owner's login only.
Owners can activate 2FA for all clients under the Office Default Settings tab of the Office Profile.
Once 2FA has been activated for ALL CLIENTS, the clients will be prompted to choose their preferred method(s) of code delivery upon initiating login. Options available are: Email, SMS (Cell Phone number is required), or SMS & Email (Both)
SAVE is the only option for the client to proceed.
A unique 2FA code will be generated for each login attempt. The codes are available for 5 minutes.
If the user selects "email," the code will be sent to their registered email address.
If the user selects "phone," the app will send the code via SMS to the user's registered phone number.
If the user selects "both," the app will send the code through Email and SMS.
Users can update their chosen method(s) at any time and the changes will be securely saved to their Staff or Client Profiles.
