Click on the Download Files quick tile from the Client's Dashboard.
Click the Document folder. This will display a list of files sent to the client portal from the Accounting office. Helpful hint: Each folder displays the date of the most recent upload.
Click the upload title link from the Title column heading. Helpful hint: E-Signature documents will have the Signature icon to the right of the upload Title.
Click the Download button to view or print the original document before signing, if desired. Otherwise, skip this and proceed to Step 5.
Click the AddSignature button to open the document and apply the signature.
Important Note: If the signature document has exceeded the 7-day period from the upload date, see the Important note at the bottom of this article.
The blue arrow will guide you through the document. Click the Signature box for signature options.
There are four ways you can add your signature. Select the desired signature method tab at the top of the box. You may change the color of the signature by clicking the colored radio buttons. The example below has the client's name typed.
The four signature options are:
Saved—Enter a previously saved signature.
Type—Type a signature and select the radio button in the box with the desired font.*
Draw—Draw a signature with your mouse or touchscreen.
Upload—Upload a signature.
*Important Note: Do not enter two names (i.e. Mary & John Smith).
If you need to change the signature, click Cancel in the bottom-left corner of the page (see the image above).
To apply your selected signature to the document, click the blue Save & Insert button as displayed in the above image. The blue arrow will guide you to the Finalize button in the top-right corner of the signature page.
A window will open, allowing you to confirm your signature. Click the "I agree" checkbox, then the Sign button. The signed document will be automatically sent to the Accounting office. You will be taken back to the Files from the Accounting office page to access other files for download.
Important Note:
Access to the signature document will expire 7 days from the upload date. If the user attempts to use an expired link the image below will be displayed.
We do not recommend using the Generate new link button as this takes the user outside the E-Signature workflow. As a result, the programmed path that automatically returns the document to the Accounting office after signatures are applied is broken, and we are unable to track the document’s status.
View and Download Signed Documents (From the Client Portal)
After all signatures have been completed, the signed document and the signature log can be accessed from the client portal by clicking the Upload Files Quick Tile from the Dashboard or Files> Upload Files from the left menu.
Click the Title of the upload from the Files Uploaded tab.
Click the Download button to download the signed document and signature log.
