The Massachusetts Department of Family and Medical Leave released the 2024 Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) contribution rate split for employers and employees. Employers with 25 or more covered individuals must send a total contribution of 0.88% of eligible wages (employer share of 0.42%, employee share of 0.46%). The medical contribution is split between the employer (0.42%) and the employee (0.28%). The family contribution is entirely funded by the employee at 0.18% of eligible wages. Employers with fewer than 25 covered individuals must send a contribution of 0.46% of eligible wages. Both the medical (0.28%) and family contributions (0.18%) are funded 100% by the employee. Employee contributions are capped by the Social Security wage base limit in effect for the 2024 tax year.
